Thinking about getting started
« on: January 24, 2014, 10:45:20 PM »

Thinking about reloading 9mm. Have about 500 cases and about 20lbs of lead from my old SCUBA weights (heart attack .. had to give up diving). Should I start out with a modest setup (several beginner's packages available for about $200) or look around for used better equipment? Most people feel Dillon is good stuff.

I'm not volunteering anybody, but George Beers is the resident expert on lead.  I use a simple Lee 4 hole turret press that I have adapted a Lyman #55 powder drop to.  I don't use the auto indexing on the press.  I double check the weight on every drop and manually adjust the load to the desired weight. I'm not an expert.  It's been my experience that a manual loading method gives me the best results.  turtle and hare...
